July 12 Sunday

It's been a very busy weekend. Saturday morning at 6am I took Maura to the airport to go back to LA, or should I say Sherman Oaks. She,Cate and Darrin have been working like crazy to try and get as much done as possible before Maura leaves and Cate takes off for Indy.

They shot 21 videos in four days. They are now on youtube, facebook, and askcateandkyle.com. Maura is working with a lady to get them some TV coverage on their site.

After Maura left I came home to a babysitting job. It seems Sharon went to the Essen House, Brian was in Brighton MI for his 25th class reunion, and Cate was busy getting things ready for her departure on Sunday. So grampy got to babysit Sammy and two of her friends. Being 58 years younger than your charges is not a fun responsibility. They want to swim and slide on the slide. Problem was, the one little girl couldn't swim very well and was afraid of some of the things the two other girls wanted to do. They got her on top of the slide, but she was scared once she got up there and grampy had to intercede to get her down. She wanted to try to climb back down the slide, grampie wanted her to grab his hand and slide down the slide with him holding on to her. Little did I know she was scared of going into the water at the end of the slide. She finally gave in to my friendly persuasion and went into the water. Once she realized she could stand, she was fine.

I'll not boar you with the three other incidents that happened in the pool.

I've been feeling much better and I guess that what they expect to have happen. I think they have done this before. I'm anxious to get this over with and on to the surgery, but I'm also very apprehensive about what happens after the surgery. I don't even like to think about anything negative that could happen. So I'm not going to think about, or write about it. It's in the hands of the Lord and Dr. Rushing. Thank God he's Catholic also.

Sharon and I both sleep until 9am this morning. Of course we were awake for a while around 6am but stayed in bed and finally woke up at 9am. Neither of us could remember doing that for a long. It was some what bitter sweet this morning, knowing Cate was going to leave and she doesn't have a actual place to live in Indy yet. She is staying with a friend at her parents home. She has some leads on a couple places, but nothing yet. She has had to memorize a presentation for her new job and is a little apprehensive about having to use it in a call. It sounds like she has a very good sales manager who is willing to work with her to become successful. Cate said he fought hard to get her on board.

Cate is now on her way to Indy. While at college Cate would leave in late August and we would not see her at home until Thanksgiving. We're not sure what will happen now. She is a very hard worker and if she needs to stay in Indy and study on the weekends, that is what she will do. Just like college, if we want to see her we will have to go to see her. The real estate agent has contacted us again and he does have some condos in the same complex that we tried to buy in May. They are asking $13,000 and more for the same size unit. There are a couple of places and the comps show the units selling for less that what they are asking. The one unit is only 13 days old, so we don't want to act to fast on that. Cate is also wanting to see how much work she will be expected to do after hours for the first three months or so. If it's going to be extensive, she doesn't want to buy anything for a least three months. It is a perminate position, but all new employees are on a probation period if they know it or not. I'm sure she will do great, it will just take time to be a pro.

Sharon is still at the Essen House and Brian and Sammy are gone so I'm home all alone and the Indy Car Race is over and neither of my favorites won, so I'm going outside and swim. More tomorrow
