One more day and it will be our 47th anniversary. I still remember the first time I ever saw Sharon. It was at a Xavier vs University of Cincinnati basketball game. Believe it or not she had a cast on her arm. She looked so helpless and cute. I just had to help her out. Actually I had met her on the phone when she called the dorm for another guy and I just started talking to her. The first thing I did was to set her up with a friend of mine, because I already had a date for the dance that we were going too so I fixed her up with my friend from Lima. Thank God it was close to Spring Bread and he met his wife down in Fort Lauderdale and she became free for me to pursue. I then called her a couple of time before school was over, but either she had a date that night or I had a date on the nights she was free. It wasn't until the last day of school that we could finally find time to have an actual date. We went to Cony Island and I actually paid a friend of mine to take her on a rollacoaster(sp) that I was not about to ride. I was an old wooden one and it was in no way safe. The damn cars came off the F++++++ track when it went around the corners and down the first hill. I did pay to take her dancing at the Moon Light ball room and that is where we fell in love.
I then ask her to a party in Lima that we are having and she said she could get a ride over. When she called me to find out how to get to the party etc. she tells me she is coming over with a guy she dates from Fort Wayne. I about shit. Here I think I have a date for the party and now she is coming, but with another guy. I quickly start calling some of my girl friends, to explain the situation, and that I want to make her as jealous as I can. I know she liked me, and had no idea why she was coming with some other guy.
The date that I finally got was with a hot blooded Italian and she was perfect for what I wanted to do. I couldn't believe she wasn't in love with me. She was all over me like white on rice. She was crazy anyway, and that night, she won a academy award, for sure. At the end of the night Sharon and her date Jim, were getting ready to go back to Fort Wayne so we were saying good buy and I invited them to a party at my house the following weekend. That's when Jim said he was going on vacation for a couple of weeks, but maybe when he came back they could come over. RIGHT !!!
That was the last date he ever had with her. She was at my house every weekend for the rest of the summer. And for that matter, just about every weekend until we got married in Feb. on the 22nd. Don't tell anyone, but she was pregnant when we got married. They said it would never last. We also had to get married before Lent, because in those days you didn't get married during Lent. I think Ash Wednesday was the next week.
Thank God I married Sharon when I did, or I would never have passed English. Someone told me they like the way I write this blog, but no one likes the way I spell and the way I murder the Kings English. Sharon will not even read the blog because of how poorly I use the Kings English. As I tell her, it ain't funny if it isn't a little off color, and poor english. I love you anyway Sharon and am so glad to have had you all these years. I hope to God we make it to 50 years.
As for my health, F+++ it, I'm not all that healthy, but my blood pressure was 125/64 my blood sugar 122, the oxygen level 97, heart rate after 30 minutes on the UN-Bike 105. I actually feel pretty good today and got a good nights sleep. I see Dr. Adami tomorrow at 8am and we will see when I can get the Chemo started again. Lets all pray it's soon. I've got to get back killing those F++++++ Sarcoma's so no little ones appear.
Until tomorrow. Tom
